I took this before and after photograph of Alex to show off the versatility of his new haircut that I gave him. He first came to me with a California surfer boy look (seen on top left) and learn to find out he is a native Iowan who recently moved to San Francisco to study film. He makes a great looking All American model and I should ask him to be in front a camera to do a photo session with me.

Kathy works in communications for the Music Department at UC Berkeley. She enjoys photographing, designing posters, gardening, cooking, and is finishing up a multi-year project with her husband stripping the redwood exterior and renovating their 1910 Berkeley home. Though satisfying, she will never take on that particular project again.

When Vanessa and I had our initial consultation, I mentioned to her that we may need to take breaks during the photo session. I could sense on the phone that she had questioned the statement I had made. “Breaks? I don’t need to take any breaks!” probably ran through her mine. As we went outside to do the outdoor scene, shown above, she asked for a glass of water, needed to take a seat and had taken several breaks as I had anticipated.

Congratulations to the newlywed couple, Adam and Rachel, who got married in this beautiful sunset wedding in Hawaii.

Pete is originally from Oregon. He works as a chemist and an environmental consultant.

Shawna was also a model for a group of photographers at the studio. And when it came to my time to do her shoot, I just whipped this French twist in under 10 minutes. Let’s just say Shawna was totally amazed and didn’t know I was a photographer who also knew how to do hair.
